Yoga therapy is a holistic healing art focused on providing insight into the power of the mind-body connection. This is not a yoga class, yoga therapy is a personalized therapeutic program tailored specifically to each person’s needs. With each session, Sarah will guide you through poses and movements to deepen awareness and presence. Sessions emphasize a focus on the present moment. By guiding clients in the present moment, they can embrace change, growth, and enhanced well-being in body, mind, emotions and spirit.

Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist in Training


Sarah brings a science-based approach to her Therapeutic Yoga practice. Sarah received her PhD in Systems Biology and Genetics from George Washington University focusing on obesity and its related conditions, along with respiratory disease. She also completed a fellowship at the National Institutes of Health studying neuroplasticity.

Sarah learned first-hand the importance of the mind-body connection through her own struggles with chronic back pain. Having used yoga and other techniques to effectively increase awareness, acceptance, and alleviation of her back pain. She has pursued further training in these techniques. In addition to her yoga therapy training through Phoenix Rising, she has completed training with the Center for Mind Body Medicine. She also frequently lectures in the community regarding stress, mindfulness, and chronic disease prevention.
